Record-Breaking Debut for Cavallino Classic Monaco

| Monaco| Monaco

A debut edition worthy of the record books: Cavallino Classic Monaco, organized in collaboration with the Automobile Club de Monaco (ACM), the Yacht Club de Monaco and Ferrari Corse Clienti, delivered an unforgettable celebration of Ferrari’s racing DNA, making the entire Grand Prix de Monaco Historique weekend even more extraordinary.

The idea of interpreting the spirit of Cavallino, rooted in passion and the preservation of Enzo Ferrari’s legacy, through Formula 1 proved to be a winning one, with a Concours d’Elegance like never before. 22 historic single-seaters from the glorious past of Scuderia Ferrari transformed the marina of the Yacht Club de Monaco into a magnet for all enthusiasts. But it wasn’t just about elegance, when racing is involved, the track had to be part of the action: on Saturday, 12 of the competing cars made their way to the paddock to take part in a fantastic show on Formula 1’s most iconic circuit, capturing the attention of the entire Principality.

The Cavallino Classic Monaco Ferrari Parade, held on both Saturday and Sunday with the support of Corse Clienti, was a Guinness record event: never before had so many Ferrari Formula 1 cars been seen together on track, a unique moment in Prancing Horse’s history. Two adrenaline-pumping sessions, on Saturday and Sunday, under the Monte Carlo sky, paid tribute to the Company of Maranello, coinciding with the 75th Anniversary of Ferrari’s first Formula 1 victory. The unique and breathtaking sound of Ferraris from the past echoed throughout Monaco, transporting the audience back to the golden days, especially the early 2000s, with Michael Schumacher’s triumphant victories.

On Saturday evening, in the elegant Ballroom of the Yacht Club de Monaco, the awards ceremony of the Concours d’Elegance took place. The prestigious Best of Show was presented by Piero Ferrari, Vice President and Non-Executive Director of Ferrari, to the F2004 #234 owned by Luis Perez Companc: the very car with which Michael Schumacher dominated the 2004 Formula 1 season. The winning car was used in the early part of that remarkable season, competing in Australia, Malaysia, Bahrain, Imola, and Spain.

Below is the list of the other awards presented:

• Chairman’s Award: 2002 – F2002 #222
• People’s Choice Award: 1998 – F300 #189
• Ferrari Best Sound Award: 1969 – 312 F1-69 #0007
• Best in Class III - Wings, Power, and Passion: 1980 – 126C #047

• Best in Class VI - From the V8 Era (from 2005): 2018 – SF71H #327

The F2002, winner of the Chairman’s Award, was also presented by Riva with the iconic steering wheel of the Aquarama.

Satisfaction also came from the track, as one of the Ferraris entered in the competition - Joe Colasacco’s 1964 1512 - won the Historique in the Race B category, dedicated to cars built between 1961 and 1965.

The long weekend of adrenaline opened on Thursday with an extraordinary dinner at the marina of the Yacht Club de Monaco, in a thrilling setting marked by the simultaneous presence of Ferrari Formula 1 cars on one side and Riva boats (including the brand-new 54 METRI) on the other. A truly exclusive backdrop, defined by elegance, engineering, performance, and excellence. During the dinner, a highly attended charity auction took place, organized by the Cavallino Foundation in collaboration with RM Sotheby’s, in support of Save the Children.

A weekend rich in events, which has elevated Cavallino Classic to a new level of excellence in the year of its 35th Anniversary. The baton now passes to Cavallino Classic Modena, scheduled from May 22 to 24.

“It still feels like a dream to have brought this idea to life,” said Luigi Orlandini, Chairman and CEO of Cavallino Classic “Together with Cavallino President Enzo Mattioli Ferrari, I have worked on this project over the past two years. It seemed almost impossible, yet here we are celebrating its success, highlighted by the record of 12 Ferrari Formula 1 cars on track at the same time: something never seen before. We are already working on new ideas for the next edition of the Historique in 2028. I would like to thank all our extraordinary guests, whose magnificent single-seaters made this possible, delivering unforgettable moments and an event of global resonance.”

The event was made possible thanks to the valuable support of RM Sotheby’s, Riva, Richard Mille, Moët & Chandon, and Ferrari Style.
